Simply show your Max Card when you visit the leisure centre and pay. Remember discounts are only available on certain days and times. Look at the table above to find out when these are.

Better leisure centres in Newcastle are great for anyone with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). There are activities for all ages and many needs and disabilities. This means everyone can have fun and be active.
Each leisure centre is fully accessible for wheelchair users.
Better Leisure and Jesmond pool also offer one-to-one swimming lesson for young people with SEND. You can apply for support with cost of these lesson through the Access Fund. For lessons from September 2025 the application process will change. We will update this page as soon as we have the details.
