Discovery Museum private tour

About the trip:

This unique experience will gives you the opportunity to explore a fascinating treasure trove of historical documents held by the Tyne and Wear Archives. You’ll get an up-close look at a selection of amazing items, including the oldest charter they have which dates back to AD 1183!

Following this, we’ll enjoy a short private tour of The Discovery Museum, where we’ll learn more about the rich history and heritage of our local area.

To round off the visit, we’ll head to the museum cafe for a hot drink (Newcastle Carers will purchase one drink per carer).

This trip is an exclusive and FREE visit, specially arranged for adult carers and young adult carers registered with us.

We hope you’ll join us for this fascinating opportunity to discover more about our local history whilst taking a break and meeting other carers.

Important information:

Please note: the tour starts at 10am, so carers should arrange to arrive at the meeting point by 9.45am. The exact meeting point will be sent to attendees closer to the time – it will be near The Discovery Museum, Blandford Square, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 4JA.

Carers must make their own way to The Discovery Museum; however a member of Newcastle Carers staff will be happy to travel via public transport with you from Newcastle Carers Centre in Byker (please note, the cost of travel is not included in this trip).
