The Early Years Sector Support Team at Newcastle City Council helps make sure that young children across the city get the best possible start in life.
We work behind the scenes with nurseries, childminders, schools and out-of-school clubs to support safe, caring and high-quality early education and childcare. This means that when your child attends an early years or childcare setting in Newcastle, you can feel confident they are in a nurturing environment where they can learn, play and develop.
Our focus is on helping all children thrive, from their earliest experiences through to starting school. However, we understand that the need for childcare does not end when children start school: we also work with out-of-school settings, including before and after school clubs, free breakfast clubs and holiday care. By supporting early years and childcare settings across the city, we aim to ensure that every child and family in Newcastle can access welcoming, inclusive and high-quality childcare.
