The Catch Up Academy

Catch Up Academy is a specialist education provider delivering bespoke 1:1 and small-group tuition to Children and Young People aged 5–25, with a focus on those facing barriers to learning due to SEMH, SEND, disengagement, or school refusal.

About us

We are part of Tempest Resourcing, a national education recruitment organisation, and a trusted partner on the Department for Education’s National Tutoring Programme. Our tutors are experienced, fully vetted, and trained in trauma-informed, person-centred practice.

How to access

Referrals can be made via Newcastle City Council’s Flexible Procurement Agreement. We accept direct referrals from schools, local authority teams and professionals working with CYP. For enquiries, please contact our dedicated Account Manager.

How we deliver

We provide a flexible, needs-led model of support. Tuition can take place face-to-face in the learner’s home, public settings (e.g. libraries), school sites, or virtually via our secure online platform. Programmes are designed around EHCP outcomes or specific reintegration goals, blending academic support with emotional literacy and life skills.

How we report attendance

All sessions are recorded and tracked via our secure online portal, Tutexa, which notifies us of non-attendance in real time. Attendance reports are shared weekly (or as agreed) with referring professionals.
