MyTutor

MyTutor is the UK’s largest online tuition provider for young persons aged 11-18  in both a 1:1 and 1:3 setting.

About us

We’ve worked with over 200,000 young people, 1500 schools and delivered more than 2 million lessons. As an online-only tutoring provider, we have designed everything, including our recruitment & safeguarding, to deliver the highest quality, safe, inclusive and impactful experience for our young people. Our objective is to deliver life-changing tuition that raises young persons’ attainment, boosts their academic confidence and develops study skills techniques, especially for young persons from disadvantaged backgrounds.

All our tutors are either undergraduates or recent graduates from high-quality universities – our near-peer model enables our young persons and tutors to build strong relationships, with tutors able to support and empathise with recent exams, life experiences and transitioning to new environments.

We offer both 1:1 and 3:1 tutoring across multiple subjects including Maths, English, Science, Humanities and more at a KS3, KS4 and KS5 level.

Impact, Outcomes and Key Performance Indicators

We use MyTutor’s impact framework to assess impact on outcomes, you can find a breakdown of this including KPIs below:

What the learner can do – academic attainment

  • Applying study skills and exam technique: we collect target and predicted grade data for every young person at the start of their tutoring sessions, and actual grade data once their exams are complete.
  • Acquiring and applying subject knowledge: after every session, the tutor will score the young person’s subject knowledge against the curriculum as part of the Lesson Report, providing both quantitative and qualitative information.

How the learner feels - young person confidence

  • Learner motivation
    • young person: our young person Attitude Survey is taken by young persons at the start, middle and end of their tutoring sessions to understand learner motivation.
  • Tutor: the tutor rates young person engagement at the end of the session.

Subject confidence: our young person Attitude survey also collects data on subject confidence at the start, middle and end of their tutoring sessions.

How to access?

MyTutor is an online only provider. There is no need to download any software, our secure lesson space can be accessed through our website.

How we deliver

Our lessons can start from 8am - 7pm, at 15 minute intervals throughout the day e.g. 8:15, 8:30am. Lessons aer 55 minutes long. We can create timetables to suit pupil needs i.e. multiple lessons a day, multiple days a week.  Example timetable: Maths, English and Science for 3 hours a day, 5 days a week - 15 hours weekly.

How we report attendance

Our partner account via our platform allows partners to view live attendance, whether or not pupils have attended the session and download regular attendance reports. This means partners are able to see any attendance concerns and missing pupils in real time. We also provide weekly reports which include a breakdown of attendance and absences.
