National Learning Group

National Learning Group is a leading provider of one-to-one online tutoring services based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. We specialise in personalised education for children and young people (KS1-4), including those with special educational needs and disabilities.

About us

Our 300 tutors and 61 qualified teachers are committed to consistent, high-quality education, highlighted by our National Tutoring Award for ‘Best Tutoring Provider’ in 2024. We champion our students from the first day they join us, supporting them to achieve their potential and take their next steps.

Our programmes include all National Curriculum subjects including Maths and English, provided via 1:1 or group learning, dependent on the pupil needs. We support pupils to gain academic accreditation, working closely with their school and parents or guardians to ensure they are suitably prepared, confident and able to access examinations.

Impact, Outcomes and Key Performance Indicators

Our team diligently monitors and evaluates the impact of our online tutoring services using a range of key performance indicators (KPIs). These include student progress assessments, session attendance tracking, and regular feedback from students, parents, and schools. We utilise a bespoke software system to collect and analyse data, allowing us to adapt our strategies to enhance student outcomes continually. We produce regular reports to evaluate the effectiveness of our interventions, ensuring transparency and continuous improvement.

How to access?

Our services are fully online, ensuring that students can access high-quality tutoring from wherever they are. We provide a comprehensive online tutoring platform that is accessible via any device with an internet connection.

How we deliver

NLG delivers its tutoring services through a structured online timetable tailored to meet the individual needs of each student. A typical programme might include several sessions per week, each lasting between 1-2 hours, depending on the student's requirements and educational goals. Our online platform is designed to facilitate interactive and engaging learning experiences, with features such as virtual whiteboards and real-time feedback. This ensures that students receive consistent, high-quality instruction, fully aligned with their educational objectives.

How we report attendance

We use TutorBird to track and report on attendance. This platform also enables us to share evidence of lesson interaction and record lesson notes. This data can be compiled into regular reports to be shared with parents, guardians, schools and other stakeholders as requested.
