About us
The activities we can deliver as part of this provision could be 1-2-1 but ideally mixed with small group sessions to allow the students the opportunity to develop their ability to engage and connect with a range of others around them. By taking part in activities which encourage interaction with others we will help each participant develop appropriate communication and social interaction skills that they will use when in mainstream activities.
Delivery can look to include a variety of classroom and/or practical sessions (depending on facilities available in school).
Impact, Outcomes and Key Performance Indicators
Monitoring progress and impact is an ingrained process in the delivery of our work. We have several progress measures we keep depending on the intervention type, the age of the participant and the intended outcomes. These can include;
- Attendance records (all delivery)
- Surveys/questionnaires at pre and post intervention as a minimum
- Individual learning plans
- Assessment work for qualifications
- Staff observations and records
- Feedback from participants, parents/carers and/or teachers.
How to access?
In person/school based delivery.
How we deliver
Our range of interventions and rewards give us the unique ability to encourage low attenders to attend school. We will work with the school to identify key times during the week to deliver interventions to ensure it sets the participants up for continued engagement and success when we are not delivering. For example this may be delivering a positive Monday morning intervention that starts the week positively and working with the school to only allow participants to take part if they hit certain behavioural and attendance targets for the remainder of the week. We can also provide rewards and incentives at the right time to encourage ongoing improvements in participants, such as visits to NUCASTLE, stadium tours or match tickets to NUFC and NUWFC games.
How we report attendance
All delivery would be recorded on the Views system utilised across the organisation. Attendance and engagement data will be shared with school accordingly.
