Free Tickets to Major Events

Children and young people in Newcastle say they want more things to do and more places to go that don’t cost much.

Through Evry, partners across the city have come together to make this a reality.

Since Evry started, groups that run big events in Newcastle have given thousands of free tickets to young people. This helps them enjoy the best shows, sports, and fun in the city without paying any money.

Opening up Opportunities

To date, Evry partners have shared:

🎟️ 7,000 free tickets

💷 Worth over £100,000

These tickets let children and young people enjoy lots of different fun events, such as:

  • Theatre Royal shows
  • Newcastle United Women & Men’s fixtures
  • Magic Weekend
  • Newcastle Pride
  • Music events in Newcastle Parks
  • Ice skating at Centre for Life
  • Northern Lights experience in Leazes Park

These events help young people feel happy, welcome, and able to enjoy the things they like.

What Young People Told Us

From talking to young people, we know that going to events helps them feel more confident, learn new things, and make happy memories

Here’s what they shared:

“It was nice to see some of the young people who never really get involved in sport participate and enjoy themselves… they loved watching NUFCW win.” Youth project who attended Newcastle United Women Match Day Experience 2025

“It’s important that young people get the opportunity to attend music events so they can have fun, live life, experience new things… and not miss out on something they really want to go to.” Young person who attended Coming Together Festival, Town Moor 2025

“It was absolutely brilliant — this is one of the kids’ highlights; they always love going to this event.” Family who attended Theatre Royal Pantomime 2025

These stories show how much these chances mean, mainly for young people who may not usually be able to join in.

Why This Matters

By working together with partners across the city, Evry helps:

  • More young people can enjoy cultural and social experiences
  • Families face fewer financial barriers to participation
  • Children feel included in the life of the city
  • Young people can try new things and discover new interests

This is an important part of our goal. We want to make Newcastle a place where all young people feel happy, safe, healthy, and ready for what comes next.

If you are a care leaver, please get in touch with your leaving care officer who will help you fill out an application.
