Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP)

Some mainstream schools in Newcastle have an Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP). It gives support to students with particular needs and disabilities. An ARP includes: 

• Specialist Staff: Teachers and teaching assistants with expertise in specific areas of SEND
• Dedicated Space: A separate classroom inside the school, where students can receive targeted support.
• Flexible Inclusion: Time spent between mainstream classes and the ARP classroom. This can be adjusted based on your child's needs.

A request for an ARP place can be made by the school. The student must have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Newcastle City Council will then make a decision.
