Social Care

Some children and adults need help with day-to-day living. They may struggle doing certain tasks without help and support. This could be because of a long-term illness, health condition or disability.

Social care is made up of practical support services. These services help people be more independent and improve their quality of life. They can help with daily or common tasks including:

  • Personal care: washing, dressing, eating, toileting
  • Practical support: cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, moving around the home
  • Social interaction: help participating in community activities

You can find useful information, whether you are a carer or need social care.
