To celebrate our SEND Local Offer's new home, we are having a competition. All you have to do is keep an eye out for GiRTrood's penguin friends. They are hiding in images on different web pages of our SEND Local Offer.

Who is GiRTrood?
She is the mascot chosen by children and young people for Newcastle's SEND Local Offer. She’s a flying penguin who represents the amazing things children and young people can achieve.
The name for our mascot came from a competition. Children and young people in Newcastle gave us lots of great suggestions.
The winner chose GiRTrood because it has the letters from 'Getting it Right Together'. This phrase is a core value we follow when planning and delivering SEND services and support.

Every entry that finds all 10 penguins will be put into a draw. When the competition closes on Friday 5 June 2026, 100 winners will picked at random.
How many winners will there be?
A maximum of 100 winners will be chosen at random.
How will prizes be given to the winners?
Prizes will be emailed, so make sure you check your email address is correct!
