Sexual health can be difficult thing to talk about. We all know it is really important. Luckily, there are many organisations across Newcastle that can help. They can support your family or provide a safe, confidential space for your child to get access to healthcare and advice. The C-card scheme is a free and confidential service. They offer free condoms and sexual health information and support to all young people aged 13–25 years.
Sexual Health Service 4 Newcastle is based in Newcastle City Centre. They offer a free sexual health service, offering things like;
- STI Checks
- advice drop-ins
- LQBTQ+ groups providing services
- support for people who have experienced abuse and/or trauma
- health difficulties support.
If you are over the age of 16, you can use an SH.UK an online service to order order STI testing kits and contraception.
If you are under the age of 16 please call 0191 229 2999 to get advice. There are also a range of sexual health drops in across the city delivered by Streetwise.

Pregnancy support and referral: The British Pregnancy Advisory Service Helpline is open 24/7 on 0345 730 4030. You can also book an appointment the British Pregnancy Advisory Service online.

Sexual assault: If you have been a victim of sexual assault, there are a range of services you can access quickly and confidentially. Always call 999 if you feel in danger. You can access support at your local A&E or walk-in health centre. You can get free sexual assault support and practical help if you have experienced sexual violence and / or sexual abuse. This is provided by the Sexual Assault Referral Centre 0300 223 0099. Their lines are open 24/7. They are based in central Newcastle.
