Childcare and Early Education Providers

The Cedars Nursery was first opened in 2002, and in that time we have created a warm and welcoming environment where our children can thrive and be enthusiastic about their own learning and development.

The Lavender Tiney Home offers nurturing, home-from-home childcare for children aged 9 months to 5 years.

The Little Hut Pre-School is a graduate led setting, we offer quality childcare in a warm, caring, homely environment.

The Little Lotus Nursery is a not-for-profit nursery located in the heart of Newcastle’s West End. Since opening in February 2018, we have been providing high-quality childcare and early years education for children from birth to 5 years old.

Thomas Walling Primary Academy is part of the Laidlaw Schools Trust. We are an inclusive school, committed to developing the full academic, spiritual, social and individual potential of each child within our ‘Family of Learners’.

Childminder

The preschool is situated within the Blakelaw and Cowgate Community Hub located on Lindfield Avenue next door to Thomas Walling Primary School. Children have access to a wide range of developmentally appropriate good quality toys and equipment. We have At Home Bags that allow parents/carers to help their children continue their learning in their home environment.

West Newcastle Academy Nursery provides space and time for children to develop a deeper way of learning.

Early Years at Westfield has a welcoming and creative atmosphere and there is a constant buzz of purposeful activity. We aim to broaden the children's experience, excite their curiosity, encourage their individuality and provide opportunities for them to develop happily in all areas.

We seek to raise aspirations, empower pupils, developing their capacity to make informed choices and lead a happy, healthy life.

We reflect the rich cultural and social mix present in our area of the city. Our school accommodation is a large, modern building with generous, natural, outdoor space and extensive sports areas.

This pre-school playgroup opened in February 2015 for children from 2 years to school age.

Wyndham Primary School is rated by Ofsted as a good school with some outstanding features.
