Securing the right educational support in the early years can be complex, particularly when additional needs are involved.
This online workshop will cover:
- What special educational needs (SEN) are
- How SEN support works in the early years
- The key laws and policies affecting early education
- What an Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan is
- The process behind requesting or reviewing EHC plans
- How to challenge decisions regarding educational support
There will be time for questions, as well as signposting to further sources of advice and support – including in your local area.

This workshop will be held on Zoom, it will not be recorded. You are welcome to keep your camera/audio off during the workshop if you would feel more comfortable to do so.
A PDF copy of the workshop slides and useful resources will be emailed to all attendees after the workshop.
This workshop is for parent carers of children (aged 0-5) with additional needs or disabilities (with or without a diagnosis), in England. If your child is aged 6+ and/or you do not live in England, please visit our website or call our helpline for information and support.
