Join us for a fun, hands-on Phoenix Programme. We run sessions with Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service. Young people learn new skills by doing real activities.
You will take part in firefighter-style tasks including:
- Using hoses and hydrants
- Working with a fire engine (fire appliances)
- Ladder and rescue drills
- Fitness activities
- Team challenges
All sessions are safe and supervised. There is no real fire. We use artificial training smoke. You will travel from Byker Fire Station. We will take you to Tynemouth Fire Station by minibus.
Wear t-shirts, joggers or leggings and trainers. We provide full fire kit including helmet, gloves and boots.
We will provide meals and snacks but please bring a water bottle.
Please use Conyer Road entrance to Fire Station.
Please book your place here: Sport Fin Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service
Any questions please email Kimberley.Golby@twfire.gov.uk or Danielle.Atkinson@twfire.gov.uk
(Please do not use the email on the T&W fire service page).
This is a warm, caring and kind place to be because:
- Parents/carers can contact staff to discuss individual needs
