Mental Health - Secondary School

Research tells us that promoting emotional wellbeing and resilience gives children and young people the best opportunity for a great start in life.  This means that when they are faced with difficult life events, they are more able to cope. 

School nurse

Every school in Newcastle has access to a School Nurse.  School Nurses provide information, advice and support on a range of health issues including emotional wellbeing and mental health.  You can contact the school nursing single point of contact service by ringing: 0191 282 3319.

You can also speak to your GP with any concerns or for any support around a young person’s mental health and wellbeing.

Children and Young People’s Service (CYPS)

The Children and Young People’s Service provides a single service to all children and young people aged 0-18 years living in Newcastle who are experiencing mental health difficulties.
