In Newcastle we want every baby in to have the Best Start in Life.
We want all families to feel confident that Newcastle is a brilliant place to raise a child and for our children to be happy and healthy. This year will be our third Baby Week celebration which forms part of the Children and Families Newcastle family hub offer.
Children and Families Newcastle is a collaborative made of partners from health, statutory and voluntary organisations. It brings services together to support children and families to get the help and support they want and need.
Over the past six years, hundreds of citywide events have been held throughout the United Kingdom with thousands of attendees including parents, expectant parents, practitioners and professionals, and of course babies!
Baby week 2024 in Newcastle was a huge success with a citywide celebration attended by over 350 adults and babies!
Baby Week: 14th - 20th November 2025
Baby Week 2025 in Newcastle will be a weeklong celebration of activities, information and learning for families and professionals, highlighting the brilliant offers available to all throughout our four localities and ending with a citywide all day party at the Great North Museum - Hancock! There will be information stalls from over 25 services supporting families in Newcastle and lots of free activities held throughout the museum including story time with NAPI and the Dolly Parton imagination library and bath safety and weaning advice from the 0-19 service, Baby Massage, Dinosaur themed stories, sensory play, boogie bairns and much more!
Baby Week in Newcastle will be a huge celebration of activities, information and learning for families and professionals. Join us at the Great North Museum: Hancock on Thursday 20th November.
There will be lots of taster sessions you can try including baby massage, song time, baby sensory, Solihull getting to know your baby and more! The taster sessions will be aimed at babies or families with babies between 0-2 but feel free to bring along toddlers or siblings too! Those parents currently expecting a baby are also encouraged to come along and find out a bit about what’s on offer ready for your new baby arriving! The full day and all activities are free to attend, some are drop in but other you need to book, please book on to your taster sessions here.
You'll be able to meet lots of local services who are here to support you on your journey. Perhaps you want to chat to Children and Families Newcastle about what's going on in the hubs . Maybe you have a question for a midwife, a health visitor, or the oral health team. Newcastle United Foundation, The National Literacy Trust, The Children's Foundation, North East Young Dads and Lads, and so many more are looking forward to meeting you and your little ones.
