Prepare your route to the hospital in advance.
Consider the best way to go. Think about how the traffic conditions change throughout the day. For instance, during rush hour.
Speak to your midwife about parking. You might be able to park in special bays for maternity patients.
If you will use a car seat, try practising using it with a teddy bear before your baby arrives. This will help you feel more confident putting your baby in their seat at the hospital and taking them out when you get home.
The wards are busy, so it’s best to leave the car seat in the car or at home until you are ready to be discharged.
