SEND Advice and Support Allocation Panel (ASAP)

Our panel considers requests from schools and settings for support from our SEND Outreach Service and Educational Psychology Service. We also consider requests for Individual Pupil Support Funding. 

Schools and settings can make a request by completing our online form.

SEND Outreach Service

Our service is made up of smaller teams based on different special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). We can help schools and settings support particular students.

Early Years Services

These services support children aged 0 to 5, as well as advise early years settings and practitioners.

SEMH Service

We support students and schools with managing Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH). This can be for individual students as well as through school improvement.

SEND Sensory Service

We are made up of two teams that support children and young people with visual and hearing impairments. We also help run additionally resourced provisions (ARPs) in Newcastle.

Newcastle Educational Psychology Service

We can support students with their learning, emotions and social development. Schools and settings can also get free activities and training as part of our core offer.

SEND Support, Assessment and Review Team (SEND SAR)

Our team is made up of SEN caseworkers. We help manage Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) including assessments and reviews.

The School Effectiveness SEND team helps schools to get it right for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
