Parent and sibling carer strategy surveys

As part of the Parent and Sibling Carer Strategy, we are currently gathering feedback from parent carers, sibling carers, and professionals to better understand their experiences of accessing support and services across Newcastle.

The purpose of collecting this survey feedback is to:

  • Capture lived experience of how easy it is to find and access support
  • Identify gaps, delays or barriers within current services
  • Understand what is working well and where improvements are needed
  • Inform the co-design of a more joined-up, accessible system for parent and sibling carers
    • Support the delivery of a strategy that ensures carers receive the right help at the right time
Hands on top of one another

All survey responses will be used to shape service improvements and inform the development and delivery of the strategy. Responses will be analysed collectively, and findings will be reported in summary form only, ensuring individual responses are not identifiable.

Data handling and confirmation

  • Survey responses will be securely stored within Microsoft Forms and associated council systems in line with organisational data protection requirements
  • Any contact details provided (if respondents choose to share them) will be stored separately from survey responses to maintain anonymity
  • A confirmation of submission will be recorded within the system, and where contact details are provided, this may be used to acknowledge receipt or share updates on how feedback has been used

We are committed to ensuring that all feedback is handled appropriately and used transparently to improve outcomes for children, young people, and their families.

If you have any questions about the survey or how the data will be used, please do not hesitate to get in touch at localoffer@newcastle.gov.uk

Thank you for your continued support in helping us shape services alongside parent and sibling carers.
