Personal Travel Budgets (PTBs)

A Personal Travel Budget (PTB) may be offered to parents/carers or directly to young people where they are eligible for SEND travel assistance.

PTBs allow families to:

• make flexible transport arrangements that suit individual circumstances.
• have choice and control over how travel support is delivered.
• explore shared or innovative solutions; and
• support the efficient and fair use of public resources.

PTBs are available to learners who meet the eligibility criteria for SEND transport. As part of the decision‑making process, the council may consider attendance and engagement, and PTBs may be reviewed if attendance is persistently poor.
