Duration, Monitoring and Reviews

Education Other Than at School (EOTAS) is usually temporary but may continue longer if needed. Reviews include: 

• termly Alternative Provision (AP) Inclusion Meeting reviewing progress
• half-termly progress reports from every provider
• annual Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) review including planning return to a mainstream school or setting 
• early review if provision breaks down or needs change
• 3‑month review required where Direct Payments are used

Return to a mainstream school or setting is planned wherever possible unless it would significantly harm wellbeing.
