Supporting those who have been harmed

The SEND Transport Team will ensure our staff and young people receive the individual support they need in response to any incident where the behaviour has compromised the wellbeing of someone else, causing harm. Occasionally, there may be times, despite all reasonably practicable measures being taken, when prevention is unsuccessful, and someone is harmed. At these times, we will ensure that this person (adult or student) is receiving the needed support through the correct channels (LA, provider or school). We always consider the following: 

• are they physically safe and protected? 
• do they need immediate first aid & medical treatment? 
• ensure they have the opportunity to talk about the incident (with appropriate service: LA, provider or school)
